PRESIDENTS REPORT [7]

Welcome to our visitors Doveton Eagles Football Club FC to our home ground

Around the Club

With four games to play the seniors will have their form truly tested, games against the 4 top sides in next few weeks will be real challenge. If we all dig deep I sure we will get positive feelings from each game.

Work hard show your worth and keep in mind on any given day we can be as good as our opponents.

Second 18 & Club 18

Both these sides have the best opportunity of playing in the finals, they know that its chance that few teams have, and I am sure that all concerned will all continue the work so to ensure it becomes a reality.

This Saturday the Presidents Luncheon will theme as awareness for those that are troubled by the many forms of mental illness. Both Clubs have been saddened by the passing of Kelvin Swab, Stephen Wright. Today is about remembering them and there deeds, but also making all of us aware of the tragic circumstances that this disease can bring, and what we as clubs can do to help those that are affected and families and friends impacted by this illness. We welcome our league CEO Wayne Holdsworth who will talk on the subject at the luncheon.

Milestones

I would like to congratulate Ross Tiller on playing 300 club games, an achievement that he has worked hard for, and is well deserved. Ross will also receive his Life Membership well done to Ross and his family for the support given to Ross and the club.

We also honor Clint Sheedy, 100 club games, and Russell Brentwood 50 club games. Well done to all.

The Presentation will be made on Saturday night 7pm at the club rooms. It is interesting to note that we now have three families Father & Son who are life members of our club Arthur Rowney -son Stephen / Bernie Mc Dermott son Aaron / Phil Tiller son Ross.

The saying chips off the old block his never so true!

Good Luck to all concerned to day, trust we have some excellent outcomes as the day goes on.

Regards, Lew Short
